How it works

Gutter length is the total eave length plus 5% for joints. Plan about one downspout per 40 ft of gutter. Hangers go at the chosen spacing.

How to measure

Measure and add up every eave that gets a gutter. Separate runs are sections that aren’t connected to each other.

Tips

• Slope gutters about 1/4 in per 10 ft toward the downspout.
• Direct downspouts away from the foundation.
• Add gutter guards under trees.
