How it works

Mortar volume is the wall volume minus the volume of the units. Dry ingredients take about 27% more volume than wet mortar; cement and sand split that dry volume by the chosen ratio.

How to measure

Take the net wall area from the brick tool. Unit size and wall thickness are on the product sheet.

Tips

• Mix only what you can use within one to two hours.
• Use clean, washed sand.
• For structural walls, the mix is set by the design.
